Bowdon Church School
Originally founded in 1533 to be a grammar school for the education of the poor of Bowdon on a site in Richmond Road, the school was rebuilt in 1670 with further additions in 1806.  It was replaced in November 1969 by the existing purpose-built school on a green-field site in Grange Road, financed jointly by the Local Education Authority and St Mary's Parish Church, Bowdon.

The overall aim of Bowdon Church of England Primary School is to provide, as far as possible, the opportunity for all children to achieve their full potential in a caring and secure Christian atmosphere.

We see it as fundamentally important to encourage every child to develop self-respect, respect for others and for their environment.  As a church school we place particular emphasis on the nurturing of Christian values.

The overall aim will be achieved through the enjoyment of learning and the acquisition of basic skills.  The school offers a broad and balanced curriculum that will equip children fully for the next stage in their education.
