To round off our brilliant Geography Day Year 3 enjoyed a very welcome ice lolly and Boogie Friday outside.
Wednesday 16th May - Our Year 3 choir members had the amazing privilege of visiting Media City with Mr. Cunliffe this morning to watch and hear the BBC Philharmonic perform live! The 'Three Pieces for Orchestra' concert was presented by Radio 3's Tom Redmond and included orchestral pieces, such as; Nimrod by Elgar, March of the Valkyries by Wagner and Waltz of the Flowers by Tchaikovsky. We absolutely loved it! There are some short videos soon, if you'd like to a sneak-peak at what we saw!

Friday 11th May - this week's Class Role Model and Merit Awards, awarded for smiles, determination, consistency and overall excellence!
Thursday 10th May - a lovely Thursday afternoon treat today when we got to meet these very cute, 4-day-old chicks that we were very fortunate to have visit us in class.
Wednesday 9th May - we're loving our Performing Arts lesson with Mrs. Sales and we're really enjoying learning our dance for our class assembly

Friday 27th April - we thoroughly enjoyed using and getting to know the MicroBits this afternoon and we're really looking forward to writing more code and getting them to do more exciting things.

Thursday 26th April - what an entertaining morning we had with the visiting theatre company performing their new version of Alice in Wonderland.
Monday 23rd April - using our excellent map skills and identifying countries of the world with rainforests. We are really enjoying our new geography topic.

Monday 26th March - Mr. C has a room full wriggly worms and hopes none of them escape from the cupboard. But we all thoroughly enjoyed finding out how soil is formed and making a wormery!
Monday 26th March - our display of elephants looks absolutely amazing. We loved our DT/Sewing project! A massive thank you to Mrs. Murray and all those who helped.
Friday 23rd March - SPORT RELIEF SKIP-ATHON! To raise the awareness of sport relief, we all wore sports kits today and at 2pm the WHOLE school went outside with our skipping ropes and everyone had a great time skipping! even the teachers!

Thursday 22nd March - we had such a great day today at Tatton Park for our Live History Day looking at so many things from the Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages!
Tuesday 20th March - a lovely morning spent at church this morning, for Experience Easter. We learnt and thought and reflected on the journey Jesus made at Easter and we celebrate that Jesus rose from the dead and that he is still with us in many ways. We know why Easter is such a special time for those that follow Jesus.
Friday 16th March - after a really great week, we have TWO Role Model winners this week and a thoroughly deserved Merit Award. Well Done to all of Y3C for an excellent week of geometry, grammar, sketching, stone age jewellry moulding and much, much more!
Friday 9th March - In Maths, we are looking at equivilant fractions and fractions that make a whole number. Here we are using the Fractions Dating Agency to find our perfect fractions partner, we even danced to Whole Again by Atomic Kitten. Even Mrs. Clarke enjoyed joining in!

Friday 2nd February - we did things differently in Year 3 today: we had our own assembly for the presentation of our Role Model and Merit Awards in Mr Cunliffe’s class. Well done to our fabulous Role Models for their superb attitudes, focus and behaviour and to our amazing Merit Award winners for their superb writing, hand writing and hard work this week.
Friday 2nd February - it’s been a very busy assessment week in Year 3. The children have worked extremely hard and all given their best, so what better way to end the week than to watch a pantomime. Mrs Sales organised a visiting theatre company to come in and perform Aladdin, which all the Junior children thoroughly enjoyed.
Friday 26th January - today we practised using inverted commas by transcribing conversations with our partner.

Tuesday 23rd January - in Art we really enjoyed creating cave paintings using ideas from our sketches that we made last week.
Friday 19th January - this week's Role Model and Mert Award winners have shown some great examples of determination, effort and manners. They have also produced some great work especially in English and Art. Well Done you three!

Friday 12th January - Congratulations to our first Role Model and Merit recipients of 2018! They have come back after the school holidays refreshed, mature and completely dedicated to their work and effort in class! Well Done!
Thursday 11th January - in Geography we are learning all about our Extreme Earth and the wonderful but sometimes dangerous things it can do! Here we are exploring volcanoes erupting by simulating it with vinegar, washing up liquid, bicarbonate of soda and red food colouring! It was really fun and we loved the hands-on learning.
Friday 15th December - these cheeky little elves are this week's Role Model and Merit winners. Some wonderful bucket fillers, very hard workers and excellent artists.
Friday 15th December - we're all looking very festive and colourful for today's Christmas Jumper Day. Thank you for all your donations to Save The Children.
Thursday 14th December - what a fantastic afternoon we had with all of Year 3 and Year 4 for our Christmas party. Full of music, dancing, games and lots of wonderful food a great time was had by all!
Wednesday 13th December - Adding to our hectic and festive week, the culmination of our Flute Project was a performance in the school hall with tunes and songs, playing the flute and singing - even a wonderful vocal solo and a flute trio! They really did do themselves, their families and teachers proud! Well Done Y3C!
Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th December - We walked up to church to rehearse our KS2 Carol Service, all the preparations for the performance are coming together nicely, ready for the big night tonight - performing and sing in front of family and friends.

Tuesday 5th December - We have really enjoyed learning to improve our drawing skills and drawn our own Bob The Elf!
Please welcome our new classmate. Bob The Elf... he's joined us for the lead up to Christmas and he will no doubt be keeping an eye on us , making sure we are all behaving well and working hard so he can keep Santa up to speed.
Friday 1st December - Our class Christmas Tree has taken pride of place on Mr. C's desk and is looking wonderful with all our special baubles and decorations... special thanks for our Y3C 2017 snowflake... "It's beginning to look alot like Christmas!"

Friday 1st December - Year 3 had a joint classroom assembly today where we shared a lovely 'Elf on the Shelf' story, awarded our Merits and Role Models, shared some prayers and we were invaded by some very important visitors, found sleeping in our Prayer Boxes.

Friday 24th November - this week's Role Model and Merit awards are so very much deserved, they showed excellence in helping others, Maths skills, improvement in handwriting, 'filling buckets' and being #UNSELFIE
Wednesday 22nd November - We have been preparing for Advent by using our creative writing skills and knowledge of Instructional Texts to write Recipes for The Perfect Christmas.
Friday 17th November - Children in Need - We have thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the future dreams of our class, dressed as 'what we want to be when we grow up.' Doctors, Nurses, Footballers, Rugby Players, Boxers, Rock Stars, Popstars, Actor/Actresses, Writers, Illustrators, Gamers, Fashion Designers, Architects, Spies and SCUBA Divers... you name it, we had it! Even Mr. Cunliffe and some other teachers did the opposite and came dressed as school children! thank you for the wonderful, kind hearted donations!
Friday 17th November - well done to this week's well deserved winners of Role Model and Merit certificates!
Tuesday 14th November - today we started putting into action all the features we have learnt for giving and writing instructions, here we were instructing our partner on how to draw a picture.

Friday 3rd November - this afternoon we joined schools nationwide in the St. John's Ambulance BIG FIRST AID LESSON. We learnt about how to deal with emergencies, burns and choking. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thursday 2nd November - Today we were lucky enough to visit the Gita Bhavan Hindu Temple in Manchester, we thoroughly enjoyed our trip and we were amazed to see all the intricate and beautiful deities.
