School Lunches

Lunches are prepared daily in the school kitchen and all meals are freshly produced.  Options include two choices of hot meal, salad, fresh sandwiches and jacket potatoes.  Vegetarian options are also available.  Menus are planned on a four week cycle and our Head Cook takes care to ensure that popular choices are included each day.  Our school lunches are very popular.

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal.  Despite this, if you think that you may be eligible for additional funding through the Pupil Premium scheme (income assessed -the old free school meals) , please enquire at the office.  Meals for Juniors currently cost £2.30 and this is payable half termly only through Parentpay following a registration process.  One weeks notice during term time is required for children to change from school meals to packed lunches or vice versa - any changes commence on a Monday or the first day back after a half term. Please inform the school office by email to mgarside@bowdoncs.org

Milk and water is available at the tables.

Please follow the advice given on the Change4life website for what is acceptable in a lunch box  www.nhs.uk/change4life-beta/healthier-lunchboxes.  Sweets, chocolate, nuts, salted or sweetened popcorn, crisps and other such snacks together with fizzy or sweetened juices are not permitted.   Children may not bring hot drinks, cans or glass-lined thermos flasks.
