Thank you to all our families for such an amazing response!
‘With heartfelt thanks to all the families who contributed to this year’s Harvest Collection, which has now been received by Bowdon Parish Church. The children presented their gifts during special Harvest Services held at church and in school, with each year group offering songs, poems, reflections, artwork and prayers. Reverend Andrew also shared the enchanting story of the apple’s journey, from seed to flower to fruit, from tree to truck, from supermarket to kitchen table, brought to life through drama by the children, prompting us all to reflect on the many blessings for which we are thankful.

This year’s remarkable collection filled 18 long pews in the church, with an abundance of pasta, rice, cereals, tinned meats and fish, baked beans, tinned vegetables and soup, cleaning products, tea, coffee and much much more. These donations will be distributed to the Hope Centre and Food Bank in Partington and to those in need within our own Bowdon community, who are facing the challenges of the cost of living, and to the charity Barnabus, who work alongside the church to support homeless communities in Manchester city centre. Every donation, every packet of biscuits, jar of coffee, pack of noodles, will be received as a gift of love and relief for those struggling in our local communities.’

A huge thank you to all our families for your generous Harvest Festival donations. Your kindness and generosity will help support those in our local community who may need a little extra help, and we are so grateful for your thoughtful contributions. We would also like to thank all the parents who kindly gave their time to walk the KS2 children up to church and back again safely on Wednesday.
This morning, Reverend Andrew and Jake, our Children and Families Missioner led a wonderful Key Stage 1 Harvest Collective Worship. It was lovely to hear our children singing all of our favourite harvest songs with such enthusiasm. The hall was filled with a real sense of love, gratitude and understanding as we reflected on what Harvest means and why it is so important to share what we have with others.
Reception joined us for our Collective Worship and delighted us with their cheerful performance of ‘Dingle Dangle Scarecrow’. Year 1 proudly showed off their beautiful Harvest artwork and Year 2 shared some lovely Harvest poems.
It was a truly special morning and a wonderful reminder of the importance of being thankful, sharing with others and looking after our community. 🌾❤️
