  • Shakespeare’s Macbeth!

To enhance Y6's work on Macbeth and inspire their writing, the Young Shakespeare Company came to perform in our school hall. Four Young Shakespeare Company actors performed Shakespeare’s mesmerizing story of ambition, guilt and revenge in a fast-moving fully-costumed interactive production.

Teddy, in Year 6, reports: “On Friday 3rd October, a theatre company came in to perform Macbeth to the year sixes, ahead of their writing topic. The play was interactive, with many children taking up important parts. The four main actors, and all the year six volunteers, performed incredibly, creating a really fun experience for everyone watching. The children also made sounds and actions to add to the atmosphere. The show ended with a brilliant feat of stage combat, which got everybody cheering for their favourite side. Overall, a very entertaining morning!”

Sophie’s review stated, “It was AMAZING! The storyline was so interesting, with many plot twists and intense fight scenes! One of our favourite bits were the interactive parts: certain children were asked but everyone was indulged in it throughout! Thank you so much for coming in to perform - everyone had an excellent time!”

We are all very excited now to start our new writing topic!
