  • Raising Money for Children in Need by 25 Acts of Kindness

We have raised £1,757 for Children in Need through our Acts of Kindness Challenge!

Thank you to all our kind children and wonderful parents for your support!

Anti-Bullying Week is an annual UK event which aims to raise awareness of bullying and to highlight ways of preventing and responding to it. In England, Anti-Bullying Week is organised by the Anti-Bullying Alliance, which is a network of more than 100 member organisations all united against bullying.

This year it was 10th - 14th November and the theme of Anti-Bullying Week was 'Power for Good'.
It was also Children in Need on Friday 14th November, so we decided to use our ‘Power for Good’ to help people in our community, while raising money to help a fantastic charity and do even more good!

We asked family members to either sponsor each act of kindness or to pledge a donation if a minimum of 25 acts of kindness were completed. Tasks Included: cleaning your room; creating a card to give to say thank you to someone; helping with chores at home or school; or paying someone an unexpected compliment.

There were an abundance of Kindness certificates awarded in our achievement worship at the end of the week. Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make Bowdon a pleasant place to be.

    Dear God,
Thank you for teaching us – to treat others the way we want to be treated.
Help us to remember this in everything we do:
Give us kind hearts that think about others' feelings.
Give us gentle hands that help, not hurt.
Give us thoughtful words that build people up, not knock them down.
When someone is mean to us, help us to still choose kindness.
When we see someone left out, give us the courage to include them.
When we make mistakes, help us to say sorry and try again.
Lord, help us to be the friend we would want to have, the classmate we would want to sit next to, and the person we would want to meet.
May our school be a place where everyone treats each other with respect, kindness and love.
    Amen.
