  • Girls Shine at Manchester Primary Stars Final

The girls’ football team were back in action today at the Manchester Final of the Primary Stars Football tournament – and what a fantastic morning it was!

The competition was incredibly tough, bringing together winning teams from a range of schools throughout Manchester, all battling for the chance to represent Manchester United. With only the top two teams able to qualify, the stakes were high from the very first whistle.
Our girls rose brilliantly to the challenge winning their opening match 3-1. They played with determination, resilience and real teamwork throughout the morning. Every player gave their all, supporting one another and showing great sportsmanship.
After a series of closely contested matches, the team finished in an impressive second place, narrowly missing out on the top spot by goal difference. It was a fantastic achievement in such a strong field of competitors, and the girls did themselves — and the school — incredibly proud.
As part of their well-earned prize, each player will receive a Manchester United football kit with their name on. Even more excitingly, they will now go on to represent Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium in March — an amazing opportunity and experience for the whole team.
Mr Lewis and Ms Parle were both extremely impressed with the girls’ positive attitude, excellent team spirit and unwavering determination throughout the tournament.
The girls should be extremely proud of themselves — we certainly are! We look forward to cheering them on in March.
