What an incredible World Book Week!
It was wonderful to see the excitement around school all week. Book sharing between different year groups, reading for pleasure taking centre stage, and the opportunity to widen the children’s knowledge and understanding of wonderful words and idioms, all helped create a real buzz around reading.
5He enjoyed recommending some of our favourite books, to inspire our friends to try new authors. We managed to cover many genres, including a classic written in the 1860s and books written by one of our own pupils this year!
6MS enjoyed sharing their favourite books with their reading buddies in Reception.
Thank you for supporting our school book fair! We managed to sell almost £2,000 worth of books, which means we will receive nearly £1,200 in rewards to spend on new books for the school.
We are hoping to get the children more involved in choosing the books they would like to see on our shelves.
