  • Pupil Voice

We encourage our pupils to have a voice and be courageous advocates for their community.

“Love your neighbour as yourself” Mark 12: 29-31

As Christians, we believe we should all be courageous advocates for the common good, locally, nationally and globally. We recognise all people will face challenges at different times in their life when they need help and support. We believe that in order to thrive and learn, everyone needs time, support and loving attention. The Christian Gospel says that every person has a unique task to do, with God, and for God, whether they know it or not. We hold the conviction that there is something mysterious, and wonderful, in everybody.

We support a range of charities in our local area, nationally and globally. The school council work together to identify worthy causes to support and ideas on how to raise awareness, as well as financial aid.

Our children are encouraged to stand up for what they believe and our Christian values ensure that opportunities to discuss the big issues, to challenge injustice and to engage in activities that can bring about change are always present throughout the curriculum, but particularly in Collective Worship, RE, English, History, Science and Geography.

Our active school council has initiated many different initiatives over the years including: trousers for girls, charity fundraising events, improving playtime provision, litter management, friendship benches and improving school meal choices.

With the intention of widening participation and increasing pupil voice in our large school, we have established 3 Vision groups: Courageous Advocacy, Democracy & Diplomacy and Growing Faith.
