Y3 Spring Blog 2022

Happy Easter Everyone!

Loving our reading books in Year 3!

Spring is here!

January

It has been an exciting start to the spring term with a few new members of staff to get to know. Miss Marechal, Mrs. Bate have really enjoyed getting to know the children in 3Ha, and Mrs. Davies is now spending her time with 3P. Mrs. Heaton is glad to be back with 3He after a lovely Christmas break. We have also welcomed two new TAs, Mrs. Mead and Mrs. Erith, who are new to BCS.

Year 3 really enjoyed their handball taster session. Have a look at the pictures from the day!

We have been really getting stuck in to our Stone Age topic with lots of fantastic writing and discovery in history.

In science there has been some great investigating going on to discover all about different types of rocks. We especially liked the part with chocolate showing how sedimentary rocks can morph into metamorphic rocks and melt to become igneous rocks. We've been enjoying making our own games using our coding knowledge in computing.

We are all looking forward to an exciting term with the wonderful children in year 3.

Cave Painting

As part of our Stone Age topic this term, the children have had a go at producing some mixed media Cave Paintings. 3Ha created some really amazing work with Mrs Richardson. We were really impressed!

Biscuit Henge

We had great fun trying to recreate Stonehenge using biscuits. Balancing the custard creams was definitely not easy! See what you think of our very own models of 'biscuit henge'...

NSPCC Number Day

On Number Day we all took part in the 'Big Bowdon Number Day Quiz'. We had lots of fun taking part and were very happy with our final score. Well done for super fast thinking and amazing Maths skills from all the children. There was only 30 seconds to answer each question!
