    Football Inter School Tournament

On Friday 22nd November the boys football team took part in an Inter school tournament. They reached the final of the tournament without conceding a goal, narrowly losing in a penalty shoot out. Mr Mather, who was at the match, commented: ‘I was fortunate enough to watch all the games and I have to say the school should be very proud of them. They represented the school in fine fashion; not just with their skill and ability, but moreover they showed great maturity and sportsmanship throughout and took their unfortunate defeat graciously.’ Congratulations to the boys and our thanks go to Mr Lewis for coaching them, along with Mr Mather and the other parents for their support.

  • Past Pupil Success in UK Athletics

    Mon 18 Nov 2019

    Past Pupil Success

It is always lovely to hear how past pupils are doing and on Saturday, whilst at John Leigh Park, I bumped into a past parent who was delighted to fill me in about his daughter’s success. Past pupil Emma Simpson has been selected by UK Athletics for the Performance Pathways Programme for Triple Jump.

‘The British Athletics Performance Pathway aims to provide opportunities to prepare, confirm and support the most promising young athletes on a journey to becoming future Olympic and Paralympic medallists in 2020 and beyond.’
Emma joins past pupil Victoria Barlow who has already been selected for the Olympic squad in pole vaulting.
This means we’ll need to keep a look out for them at athletics competitions in the near future. We wish them all the best.

Saturday 16th November  saw the last race of the season take place at John Leigh Park. We had fantastic results! Susanna (Y6), who came 2nd in the race, achieved 1st place overall (for the 2nd year running.) Yannick (Y6), who also came 2nd, achieved 3rd place overall.

The 5 boys in the A team all came within 25 places and achieved 1st team overall!

We have a keen group of Y3 boys who are showing potential for the coming seasons, I am looking forward to tracking their progress.

Thank you to all the children who have given up their Saturday mornings (and football matches) and the parents for supporting them.

  • Lacrosse Tournament Success

    Thu 07 Nov 2019

On Tuesday 5th November Miss Parle took 2 teams to the Lacrosse Tournament at Timperley Sports Club. Miss Parle decided against calling them an A and B team as they were equally as good as each other. One team came 1st and the other team came 3rd. Fantastic achievements for everyone involved.
