  • New Friday Award Certificates - Golden Values

    Fri 28 Feb 2020

We have now redesigned the awards to reflect our Golden Values in school. Each class teacher chooses two children to have an award and the certificate reflects the value they have demonstrated. A few children may receive an award with all four values to show they have been a true role model to the class. We wonder who will be the first to collect the whole set?!

  • Bowdon Music Festival Winners

    Fri 28 Feb 2020
On Thursday 28th February Mr Cunliffe and Mrs Sales took our lower junior and upper junior choirs to take part in the Bowdon Music Festival. They practised hard, with extra lunchtime rehearsals, working on a high standard of performance. Both choirs performed well but the stars of the evening were the Lower Junior Choir (Y3 and Y4) who won the event, competing against eleven different school choirs of mixed ages. Well done to all the children and thank you to Mr Cunliffe and Mrs Sales for their time and inspiration.

  • Remembering Mr H

    Fri 21 Feb 2020

A group of parents, Sarah, Jude, Lizzie and Richard, completed the 50mile ultra in October in memory of Mr H. Their JustGiving page closed at the end of January and they’re delighted to say that they are donating £900 towards the development of the outdoor areas around school - the sensory garden, pond area and new growing area, in Mr Hambett’s memory. We would like to thank them for their dedication and keeping the spirit of Mr H alive in the school community. Work is planned to start over Easter to develop the area around the outdoor classroom, which will be a focus for our outdoor learning in school, just as he had hoped.

    Y4 Visit

A great Anglo-Saxon day was had by Year Four this week at Weaver Hall.  The children really enjoyed learning lots of interesting archeological facts as well as seeing some fascinating artifacts.  They made clay models of anglo-saxon warriors and as you can see from the photo, they had great fun demonstrating a real life battle! For more photos see the Y4 page https://www.bowdoncs.org.uk/y4-joint-blog-2019-2020/
