Author & Theatre Visits

Authors and Actors in School!

Over the past few years, we have been lucky enough to welcome numerous authors into school (or online!) to talk to us about the craft of writing. 

These include Catherine Bruton (author of 'No Ballet Shoes in Syria'), Frances Hardinge (author of 'The Lie Tree'), Thomas Taylor (author of 'Malamander'), Judith Snell (author of 'Fun Facts About Familiar Insects: The Grasshopper'), Guy Bass (author of 'Spynosaur') and JD Welch (author of 'The Einstein Code'). 

We also ensure that every year, our children experience live theatre at least once, either via hosting theatre companies in school or travelling to venues around the north west. The Young Shakespeare company visits us twice a year to deliver performances to Year 5 & Year 6, and our younger children have enjoyed performances varying from 'The Secret Garden' and 'The Railway Children' to a panto version of 'Robin Hood' from the M&M Theatre Company.
