Hello Year 1!
Welcome back to another week. This week we are celebrating the 75th Anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE Day). This will take place on Friday 8th May, and we will spend the week learning about the history of this day and planning a celebration for you to have at home on Friday.
We will also be continuing our Space topic, reading Here Come the Aliens and Red Planet!
In Maths this week we are continuing to use Power Maths, but will use both the text book and practice book.
- Use the TEXT book pages (on screen or printed out) to discuss and work through the questions together with your child to make sure they understand the topic.
- Then let them complete the questions in the PRACTICE book on their own, supporting them where necessary.
You should have either ordered a copy of the practice book online, be planning to collect one from school or have asked your class teacher if it could be dropped off at your house from a safe distance.
Please note - Copies of the pages from the PRACTICE book for this week are available below for those who do not yet have the book.
The textbook can be accessed here - https://preview.pearsonactivelearn.com/PowerMathsYear1
Important Notices this Week:
- Please can you email your teacher a picture of a piece of work that your child has completed this week. It can be anything from the timetable - even your VE Day party decorations!
- If you plan on taking part in the VE Day Toast on Friday 8th May at 3pm, you can take a picture of yourself toasting and send it to Miss Newton - hnewton@bowdoncs.org. These will be put together as a video collage.
