Hello Year 1!
This week we will be reading Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister.
We will be doing some work about maps in Geography this week. You will learn how to read a map and will be following some instructions to decorate it! We Will also be looking at Grace Darling - she was the daughter of an English lighthouse keeper, you will be learning about why she is so famous.

In Art, you will have a chance to use the techniques you have learnt over the year to create your own Rainbow Fish!
In Maths, you will be reviewing what we have learnt about Division! (Although this topic has been covered, it has not been done in the power maths books so we will be going over it.)
Phonics
This half term we will be using Phonics Play. This week we will be beginning to try some Phase 6 games.
- Phase 6 involves things like plurals and alternative sounds.
- This week will be a chance for children to begin to explore and develop these skills, which they will be working on further in Year 2.
