Y1 Autumn Blog 2021
Love Life, Love Jesus
Towards the start of Autumn term, we had a 'Vision Day', where we were thinking into our school vision: Love Life, Love Jesus. We had a fun day thinking of what we were grateful for - we even got to use chalk on the school playground!
Sandwich making
As part of our DT, we made some sandwiches! The children had to plan out their sandwich design and afterwards had to write instructions. The sandwiches were very yummy indeed!
A walk to the Bollin
In geography, we were discussing our local area. We learnt how to read maps, how to create map kays and we even followed a map to get to the River Bollin.
Black History Month
October was Black History Month and we thought it would be nice to learn a poem that had themes of identity, diversity and loving who we are! Have a listen to our performances!

Writing
We've loved our English lessons this term! We've read various books and have done some amazing writing (fiction, poetry and non-fiction)! The children have been trying hard to remember their capital letters, full stops and finger spaces, alongside doing their spellings and working on handwriting! We've been very impressed with their determination!
