Working Scientifically
SEERIH
We are fortunate to be part of the Science and Engineering Education Research and Innovation Hub (SEERIH), linked through the TTSA (Trafford Teaching Schools Alliance) and The University of Manchester. Our science curriculum leader attends meetings every term that enable current research and activities to be implemented in school through staff CPD.
Classes all display the 5 areas of working scientifically posters so that children recognise these as they progress through school and build on their skills. Several classes have 'investigation stations' where children are encouraged to discover through child-led investigations.
From Reception to Year 6 we encourage children to discover through scientific enquiry and ask lots of questions!
