Hello Year 1!

 

This week we will be reading Billy's Bucket by Kes Grey.

 

We will be doing some work about keys in Science this week. You will learn how to make and use a key to identify different minibeasts! We Will also be looking at pondlife - the plants and animals that you might find in a pond!

 

In Art, we will be learning about the work of Georges Seurat and using what we learn to create our own piece of art using a new technique: pointillism.

 

In Maths, you will be continuing to learn about Multiplication! (Although this topic has been covered, it has not been done in the power maths books so we will be going over it.)

 

Phonics

This half term we will be using Phonics Play. This week we will be recapping all Phase 3 and 5 sounds.

• Monday's and Thursday's activities can be used with these sounds (by selecting all phase 3 or all phase 5).
• For Tuesday and Wednesday's activities you can select Phase 5. If you think revision of Phase 3 would be useful then you can use this also. 
• On Friday we will be revising tricky words.
