National Storytelling Week
It has been wonderful to see the children enjoying National Storytelling Week. Events have been taking place across the school to celebrate the magic of stories and getting lost in a book. Storytelling has such a positive impact on childhood development. It can inspire a love of reading and writing, help to develop key thinking skills as well as broadening vocabulary and inspiring creativity. Children have been actively involved in choosing new books for their class libraries as well as voting for their daily story or class novel. The reading cafes in some of our Key Stage 1 classrooms have been very popular this week. We have many more exciting events planned in the coming weeks in the build up to World Book Day, so watch this space!
