Remembrance Day

We were keen that this important day was not overlooked in school. Everyone in school observed a one minute silence, as well as watching a Remembrance assembly prepared by Mrs Hudson. Our thanks go to Mrs Murray for this Remembrance display in the front lobby area of school, using one of our ‘Poppy boards’ created a few years ago by Mr Hamblett and Mrs Pope.

Year 2 walked up to St Mary’s church to place some ‘poppy stones’ around Bowdon. Poppy stones were also placed below Captain Edward Bradbury’s memorial stone on Langham Road to help people to remember.  He was a WW1 army officer who received a posthumous Victoria Cross from King George V for bravery. This is on display at the Imperial War Museum, London and he was born at Church Bank in Bowdon.
