  • Upper Junior Choir singing at Our Lady of the Vale

    Year 5/6 choir walked to Our Lady of the Vale to sing in the chapel to residents and their families. Well done to the children for their final community event of the year, they sang beautifully and impressed everyone with their Twelve Days of Christmas! We were very proud of you.

    Y3C Christmas Assembly

    Mr Cunliffe’s class gave us a very special assembly on Wednesday.  They reminded us about the true meaning of Christmas through their fantastic film, prayers and narration.  Everyone spoke well and they were most impressive. Well done to Mr Cunliffe (with help from Mrs Sales) and his super class.

    Last Friday the hall was aglow with the Christingles made by Year 2. It was a heartwarming sight as Reception, Year 1 and 2 sang Christmas songs together in candlelight.

  • Junior Carol Service

    Thank you to everyone involved in the Junior Carol Services, particularly Y6, who lead the service with readings, poems and prayers; sing in small groups; perform in the tableau and greet everyone at the door. Also a big thank you must go to all those involved in the two choirs, the children for singing so well and to Mr Cunliffe, Mrs Sales, Mrs Morrow and Mrs Hudson for teaching and encouraging the children.  We are still counting the money but we have raised over £600 to help support the education of our 2 students in Uganda for 2019.

    1H & 2C Music Concert

    On Tuesday a large audience of parents, family and friends were treated to a wonderful fife, glockenspiel and singing concert from Mr Hamblett’s and Mrs Cochrane’s class.  They demonstrated what they have been learning this term and I think that we have several potential musicians amongst them. Well done everyone and a big thank you to Miss McPheely from Trafford Music Service.

    Last Friday the Upper Junior choir sang songs from the carol service, plus traditional favourites, at the St Luke’s Christmas lunch. They received a huge round of applause from a very appreciative audience!

  • Charity hamper

    We would like to congratulate the Wilkins’ boys, who have been involved throughout November in collecting food items for an emergency Christmas hamper to support CAP - Christians Against Poverty. The hamper is going to a local single lady who is struggling financially. It took all three boys to lift it up!   • Visit from the Mayor of Manchester

    We welcomed Mayor Andy Burnham this week. He came to meet Isobel and Charlotte who have raised money for his homeless initiative. Well done girls for showing how we can care for others and setting an example to us all.
