  • Y6 BIG Club Assembly

    Thu 14 Feb 2019

Today’s assembly was led by our ‘Stamford’ Y6 team. They only had a short time to put the assembly together so they worked well as a team to develop a drama about how to pray, using the Lord’s prayer. BIG club also handed out wooden teaspoons to help us all remember ‘tsp’ prayers: tsp stands for ‘thank you’, ‘sorry’ and ‘please’ in our prayers.

A big thank you to Y6 and the BIG club team: Kirsten, Mrs Riley, Mrs Royle and Mrs Garside.

  • Y1 L and Y1B class assemblies

    Thu 14 Feb 2019

We have been spoilt this week with two fantastic Year 1 class assemblies. All the children spoke with great maturity and clarity to their large audience of pupils and proud parents.

Miss Lowe’s class assembly focused on the qualities that make a good friend and retold the story of Jonah and the Whale.

With today’s date in mind, Y1B/L reminded us to cherish those we love and to follow Jesus’s example of how to treat others.

Well done to both classes, their teachers and teaching assistants, who all worked together to present a professional performance.

Sienna only started cheerleading in October last year, but recently competed in the ICC 2019 Championships in Blackpool. It was a fantastic turnout from clubs all over the county. Sienna’s team were placed 1st and therefore earn the right to compete in the champions of champions 2020. We are all incredibly proud of her and her squad; a great example of what you can achieve with dedication and teamwork.

Another superb pantomime performance by 6T, this time bringing us Aladdin. The costumes and character acting were so well put together that some were unrecognisable! Well done to all the children, but particular thanks to Mrs Sales for enabling the children to write, produce and perform to a high standard.

The Trafford Boys team won the event, team manager Mr Edmundson (Head teacher at Elmridge) said “Winning the team award so convincingly is a remarkable achievement and down to a great team spirit and brilliant individual performances by all 13 boys.” What a fantastic achievement very well done to our BCS boys! • Lacrosse

    Tue 05 Feb 2019

    Lacrosse

Commiserations to the Lacrosse team who unfortunately where knocked out of the National Pop Championships Competition this week. The team won all their matches and came across Hale Prep in the semi finals. At the end of the 6 minute game they had drawn 3 all and had to play for the golden goal. The decision for centre was made by a toss of the coin and Hale won possession and were able to score from it. Despite the defeat Miss Parle was extremely proud of the team!

  • Mr H day

    Mon 04 Feb 2019

Following on from our snow day, we remembered Mr Hamblett in school the way he would have wished: wearing silly socks and ties, while taking part in an array of outdoor activities.

We would like to thank everyone who has donationed towards the outdoor classroom and sensory garden project; £7,555.50 has been raised so far at the time of writing. Encouraging the children to develop a love of the outdoors was very important to Mr Hamblett and we’d love to continue what he started as a lasting tribute.

You can still give towards the outdoor classroom at: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fund/rememberingmrh

£270 was raised from the cake sale to go towards Mr Hamblett’s personal charities: Mountain Rescue and RSPB. Thank you to everyone involved.
