We are very proud of Tom, who has been selected to play year 5 cricket for his county, Cheshire Cricket Club.  He will be playing against other county level cricket clubs - Lancashire, Warwickshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire over the next two months. These will be followed by a festival in Somerset late July, where all Englands’ county year 5 cricket teams play.

  • Royal Academy of Art - online exhibition

    Thu 12 May 2022

There were a staggering 21,000 entries to the Royal Academy of Art competition, out of which 500 children were selected for the online gallery and 200 invited to have their work in the public gallery later this year. We are pleased to announce Sara in Y6 will be featured in the online gallery and Harvey in Y1 will feature in both! Mrs Pope, who promoted this competition in school, is thrilled to have their work recognised in this national competition.

Harvey loves reading comics and drawing his favourite characters. He thoroughly enjoyed using his sister’s art box to produce something a little different. Sara is a passionate artist and is thrilled for her artwork to have been selected.

  • Hockey League Winners!

    Thu 05 May 2022

What a fantastic way to end the series of Trafford school tournaments!

This tournament was a knockout tournament to decide on an overall winner for Trafford Schools. We played 2 matches, the first one we drew, and knowing that we had no choice but to win the second game and score as many goals as we could, BCS certainly rose to the challenge. The teamwork and support demonstrated both on and off the pitch was what made the tournament even more special, there were many proud moments for both players and parents who have always been there in full support on the side-line.

We got through to the Semi-Finals, and BCS played their hearts out. We have such a strong group of players, and members of staff from other schools and organisers have commented throughout the months on both individual and team abilities. After a strong win against…on to the Final we went. There were many red faces with these back-to-back games and a lot of hard work from all players involved, and Forest were a very strong opposition. Jack E was fantastic in helping the team with his fearless goalkeeping, and a very strong defence (including Dexter and Greta) combined with an extremely talented midfield with Arlo, James and Charlie upfront sneaking skilfully around players, BCS managed to take the win.

Thank you to all players who have taken part over the months, and for making coaching you all such a delight. The overall win for Trafford Schools was so well deserved after many months of training hard and learning more of the game together. Thank you to all parents for your support and guidance from the side-lines at every single occasion, and most importantly good luck to all of Y6 in your future hockey careers and your new schools. Never stop working hard, training hard and enjoying your sporting times - Miss Bulcock

Many thanks for all of your support with Ethos Clubs’ preloved uniform sale. The children were amazing: sorting, organising and setting up between them, showing some impressive entrepreneurial skills! As a result they raised a whopping £165 which will be used for litter pickers and more. We have lots of uniform leftover so look out for another sale soon.
